Writing of a Dream

Well since the 24th of this month has been a whirlwind, and even more than usual

Gary and I found an amazing place. It is a 1500sq ft duplex with a yard that is about 800 sq ft for the dogs. It’s $795 a month and has 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, and a 2 car garage. The downstairs was designed for entertaining it’s the only impression you get off of the house. There is a huge entryway coat closet and the kitchen is big enough to fit Gary’s dining room table in it which has apparently sat 14 people at it before. Only problem is at the moment we have no chairs for the said table. That’s going to have to be something we work on though. The only downside on the kitchen is I don’t think there is a dishwasher and the counter-tops are yellow and I mean YELLOW like Big bird yellow. I was wanting to do a cow themed kitchen (almost everyone knows of my love for the cow) and I am wondering if I put enough black and white in it will faze out the yellow…..

The living room looks as if it’s about 20×40 ft… I mean it’s friggin huge…. and it has a neat corner fireplace with a mantle which I have been wanting for months now. It’s the ideal location to put a few of my little memorable items I have. Like my sister got me this awesome Buddha incense burner and a nifty Dragon statuary. I have a little Japanese Geisha doll from Japan from when my Papa was serving in WWII and a bottle of sand from the first time I went to the ocean in California. Just little trinkets every girl has that are her specials. I am so Happy i have a place to put them now. They are attractive and important to me and I have a mantle for them now. With the living room I also think I am going to be getting couch covers for my armchair and the couch eventually. Make them a nice tan color and get a throw pillow or two. This also makes Dogs + Couch cleaning MUCH easier. It will also go with the theme that I want to run with in my living room, Horses, not like photo’s but very flowing I have one painting called Zepa Lapa and I want another one similar to kinda flow with it.

If you wonder on my obsession on Cow’s and Horses. I love horses, I can’t watch a movie with a horse in it without crying. Spirit Stalion of the Cimarron was a cry fest from the opening credits I mean it was moving. Hidalgo… same thing I don’t know what it is with horses they are just so free, and beautiful and powerful they move me to tears. Yeah i do have girl tendencies unlike common conceptions of moi. The cow thing…. I don’t know I just love the cows. They are so mellow and easy going and they have such a cool print… I mean they are black and white no gray just awesome. Not to mention I ran arround as a Tauren for years and everyone knew I referred to myself as a Cow because of that…. Hell more people know me by my screen name of Tanalei than my real name of Kristin. Ironic isn’t it how something you pick for yourself can become your primary identifier completely by accident.

Anyway back to the house. The upstairs master bedroom is almost as big as the living room downstairs. Except it has a full bath with a stand up shower only and two closets. I mean it’s friggin huge! Which is a good thing. Gary has his own closet (albeit the smaller one) and we have enough room to put a pet bed up stairs for Terra to sleep on if she wants to. More than enough room to set up my hope chest and actually sit on it and use it for putting on shoes and pants etc which is what it was designed for as well as the storage of my mom’s wedding dress. The other two bedrooms are fairly small. Ogre is moving into one of them, we are going to try the roommate thing again, but he is keeping his own apartment in case things don’t go well since it’s free over there. The other is going to be for crafting since we are going to put all the computer hardware on the first floor to make sure it stays cool, since as we all know hot air rises and having multiple computers in a tiny room is never fun… especially on the 2nd floor.

However to get into this place I really had to break out my business woman on the issue. The duplex is a no pets property so i had to pay a $600 deposit for the dogs and I have to fix a broken separator fence that the landlord was just going to take down. So yeah all in all a $1200 deposit and then we were expecting to put another $400 out on the fence. The good news is when we went and measured and looked at the boards that are available we don’t have to buy as much as we thought we were going to have to so the fence fixing with the Auger rental is looking like we can get it done for under $100. Which is friggin amazing.

I called Edmond electric and they want a $320 deposit from us which really hurts but they said we could do $220 now and $100 on the first months bill. I find it completely ridiculous but oh well WTF. I found out photo-shopping my lease is illegal so I’m not going to get out of the deposit that way. Not to mention ONG wnts like another $500 bucks from me. And we still haven’t figured out what exactly we are going to do about a fridge…

Well alot more is going on I’ll update some more tonight and possibly load some more writing.
