Yeah I know odd header but that seems to be where my life is going. It has been a complete hell week with this movebut I should be used to that at this point.
The 14th after I got home from work was just a mad dash of packing and trying to get everything together before I literally fell over from exhaustion. Gary got home at midnight and was hurting because of his teeth issue and his body was in agony after his long shift at work. He helped the best he could but didn’t get much done on the packing front. I managed to get most of the house done excluding most of the kitchen and the random stuff in the closet. Gary and I kept going until 3am putting everything in boxes. It was a nightmare and I was reminded how much I truly hate to move.
The 15th only got worse. 2 Fella’s and a Big truck came by to move all of our stuff because Gary and I are in no condition to load everything ourselves. It would kill us and we both had to work the next day. Only problem is they went WAY over the estimated time frame and were slow as hell. It caused HUGE budget issues for this month. Initially I was planning on 2 hours move time +1 hour of drive time so $207. I mean we only have 652 square feet at the old place it shouldn’t take that long to load even if it is on the 3rd floor. Well that $207 ended up growing to $465 which is a significantly larger number than was initially anticipated.
The morning of the 15th the “kids” and me hopped into the truck to go to the groomers up in Edmond so they would be all nice and clean before moving into the new house. Apparently since the last time I took the dogs by puppy love brushing after a bath is no longer included in a standard grooming and it’s an additional $20 per dog. Yeah it really sucked since I was already paying $56 to have them bathed and their toenails clipped. So with them being all nice and washed they jumped in the truck and ended up COVERING my entire truck in loose flyaway puppy fur.
I spent most of the rest of the day on the 15th unpacking everything and realizing that my stackable washer and dryer won’t fit at the new place and so I have to go buy another set and I have no fridge. Yup I forgot that with the new place that it’s a BYOF which kinda sucks since well a fridge with a new w/d runs about $1000 for all four items together if not more. But I’ll get back to that.
Friday the 16th was just a whirl as well. Getting everything done at work and then going home to continue unpacking and getting everything “just so”. I don’t know what it is about this go round of unpacking but I finally feel home. I don’t know if it is just the larger space. If it’s not climbing 3 flights of stairs. Maybe it’s being in a cozy environment with Gary. Perhaps it is being closer to our friends. I really don’t know but I finally feel comfortable and safe. Which is a definite step up in my opinion.
Saturday the AC went out. Now for anyone who knows me. I just realized i was spoiled growing up. I thought everyone went on vacation out of state every two years, got lots of presents at Christmas, and that there was no American family that didn’t have central heating and air. Yes I am/was sheltered and I am beginning to realize that now. However, I don’t deal well with the heat. At All. I am allergic to the sun and it hurts if I’m out for more than 15-20 minutes. Heat isn’t my friend either because I don’t know how to cope with it and it just shuts me down. SO with house temps easily reaching 85-90 degrees I was literally feeling as If I was going to die but no one could come out to fix anything until Monday. That was one of the most difficult weekends for me in a long time. But I made it through and still managed to get stuff unpacked and put away so cudos to me.
Ogre has moved in with us. Not sure If I had mentioned that or not. This was done for numerous reasons. He gets the internet, food, and a neat place to stay for $300 a month. This benefits Gary and I because our budget doesn’t really change at all even though our bills are going up $300 because the Ogre offsets this change. Also it goves me someone to talk to on the days Gary is at work and I get very very bored. Ogre is still keeping his place since he isn’t paying anything for it at the moment in Edmond so if something goes wrong and he needs to move out he can and if he wants some private time he has that as well.
Over Monday and Tuesday I got most of the house done I think I have maybe 5 more boxes a the house to unpack and then I am completely done. I’m slightly worried about getting everything done as quickly as possible simply because of the fact that (as the title suggests) there is something up with my ass. There has since birth I’ve just always been to much of a chicken to get it looked at so It is imperative to get as much done as possible before I have to drink the “fluid of flushing +10″ and empty my system completely. I already have a consultation with a surgeon set for June 4th to get some of it fixed I just hope that this solves everything forever. And no more ass issues.
I found craigslist.com is a lifesaver. It was going to cost us $1000+ to get a new fridge and a new washer and dryer but I found a slightly used w/d set and a Fridge that works wonderfully just needed to be cleaned both high end GE products for a total of $350 I was impressed with myself to say the least. So we now have a fridge that is alot nicer than the one were were going to be able to get ice dispenser and water on the door and all.
I was talking with Nat today and discovered she is happily with a nerd, finally, and is in 7th heaven! It’s always fun to hear that your friends are doing well. And I told her long ago there is no better man than a nerd. They know how to use their minds in more ways than one and creativity is always appreciated, be it in life in general or in the bedroom!
Well I’m going to call it there I should be updating more frequently once I’m not running around like a chicken with my head cut off.
