A Klutz and her Dreams

So I feel like a bad blogger. A lot has happened and no Blog. So here is the catchup post from the 4th of July.

Item #1 - The Gas Company and my Duplex

So I live in a really neat duplex in Edmond. I love my home, all 1500 sq ft of it and the layout is perfect. Gary and I have even spoken on different renovations we are wanting to do to it to make it a nicer place. Such as tiling all of the countertops and backsplash. Paining everything into a brighter more now shade. Removing all of the existing flooring and replacing with wood flooring. Getting all new blinds and curtains. Replacing the fixtures in the kitchen and bath. Putting in more lighting in the living room. Replacing the light in the dining room with something prettier. Getting a new fan for the upstairs guest bedroom/craft room. building a porch off of the back of the house. Maybe getting an electric water heater instead of a Gas water heater. Lots of fun stuff because we aren’t planning on moving for quite a while.

So Yesterday there was a notice on our front door: “Your Gas has been turned off because of Excessive Consumption please call ONG.” Oh yes this makes the day so much fun doesn’t it? So I call and they can’t tell me how much gas has been used but they can get me a field tech right back out. So I call Gary tell him what’s up and wait for him to call me back. I get a call and Gary tells me that last month we used 20 cubic feet and so far this month we are up to 113 cubic feet. That’s over a 600% increase in usage. Yup there’s a problem.

For starters last month’s bill was $45 not counting the activation fee. So that means at a minimum we are looking at $300 for this month’s gas bill. It turns out here is a slight leak in the garage and there is hot water leak upstairs and there is a water leak under the kitchen sink and the water heater isn’t up to code. Yup all sorts of fun. 

So I start to do what I do best, call other people to fix it. I call mom ask her opinion, I call Sister for her help, She calls Ralph who hooks me up with an awesome plumber. I call the landlords (drama starts now.) I call Tami and she says to call Ted and tell him. (Tami and Ted are going through a very sticky divorce) I call Ted and he informs me I haven’t paid my rent… I advise him I did exactly as it stipulates on my lease and I can’t do anything other than that until there is an amendment made to the lease. He says call Tami he isn’t doing anything about it. So I call Tami leave a voicemail and her dad calls me. I explain the whole thing all over again and give him the plumber info that Ralph gave me.

Unexpectedly at about 7:30 PM Tami, her dad, and the plumber shows up. They look and said you should have smelled a leak if there was one etc. And Tami reams me about not calling the day the drip upstairs started. I show them around where the issues are and the plumber said he would be back this morning to fix the leaky faucet in the upstairs bath, which he did come by and fix it. And on Friday morning he is coming by to work on the water heater to take it up to code compliance because there is a lot of issues with it.

•  It is not 18 inches off the ground. 
• The tubing bringing the Gas in is not big enough. 
• The valves being used are no longer allowed.
• There isn’t an off valve for just the hot water to the house.
• The split that was soldered on for the W/D hookup is not up to code.
• The soldering isn’t up to code. 
• The ventilation duct isn’t double walled.

Yeah lots of fun. So I took the last of my PTO off for tomorrow. 

Item #2 - I went back to World of Warcrack

Yes that’s right I know I swore i wouldn’t do that. But I did. I got talking with Indian and he convinced me “hey come play on alliance” then I discover it is a new toon he made and I transfered a toon for nothing and his main is on a PVP server. So next he is like… Hey roll up in here on the PVP server. I was like… ok I can do that. Then I mad ea post on Myspace saying that hey I’m back in the game and discovered that Joe, Kim, Dechienne, and Bulvi are all on a server together, Muradin. So I move my 70 Druid and renamed her to Tanalei since she is my main and all main’s must have my name. The new guild is very cool i like running with them a lot. And thanks to Michael we now have a guild website so my stresses are gone.

My issue #3 has been resolved.

I have been paranoid for months about saying the infamous “L” word to Gary. I feel very deeply for him and I wanted him to know about it. I finally got the balls and said it and he smiled and said “I know you have been saying it for months.” So apparently I said it repeatedly without knowing it because my sub-conscious wanted him to know.
